keeper candidate
December 1st, 2007 by IanZach Parise was drafted in the 80’s overall in every league i’m in this season and after last night’s hattie to go with a helper he’s top 20 in scoring in the league. it was especially hard for me to see this because last night’s destruction victimized Carey Price who is one of my goalies in a league that needs Wins. Parise is now the Devils best skater and a fine option in keepers, but i was already calling that before the season.
Parise has come home with at least one point in 15 of his 25 games this season and that makes for some extra goodness in H2H leagues where consistency is key. he leads his team in even strength time on ice and power play time on ice as well as overall offense.
before the season began an offer of Michael Nylander or perhaps Brendan Morrow for Parise probably got it done, not anymore though. it’d probably cost you Ryan Getzlaf, Marc Savard or Daniel Briere now. that’s a step several rounds in a draft from my perspective.
i just wish that Parise wouldn’t do stuff like that to a goaltender that i’m wanting a W out of.

I’m glad to see Parise getting some love. I got him later in my draft probably because I owned him last year too so most other guys didn’t really know much about him.
He’s definitely become one of the jewels on my team and you’re right - his H2H consistency is gold.
